The last three days were filled with activities working with the Nyawa sewing group. They made a craft tool bag, with a purse and a drawstring bag, a stuffed cat and also another quilted bag.
The first day they started with the craft tool bag. My mom instructed them in how to cut all the different parts and amounts. The craft tool bag had quite a complicated instruction booklet, and it was even more complicated as the pages were not following each other, and it was very small print!
So, during lunch, I took my mom back, and took the instructions to Repro print shop to scan, enlarge, and put them in the right order.
I’m normally just the organiser and planner, but I have never really stepped up to teach sewing! I had to draw on previous observations and the very little experience I had! Since the parts were all cut, and with my engineering background of deciphering instructions, we managed to make the outer bag – even with a nice quilted bottom and outer pockets!
