Travelling to Namaqualand, Northwestern Cape

This morning, we finished packing, and around 11 am, said our goodbyes and drove one last time through Salanha, past the cemetery and the beautiful viewpoint, before heading north towards Okiep – our first night away.

The weather was cool, and as we went further north, it clouded over even more, and for a few minutes, we had rain. We still had spectacular flower sightings that were very special!

We travelled from Saldanha, Vredenburg, Veldrif, Dwarskersbos, Elands Bay, Vanrynsdorp, Kammieskroon, to O’Kiep.  I didn’t know this, but O’Kiep area is very well known for its Copper ore since the late 1800’s.
